Governess
A warm, highly educated Governess for a 10-year-old girl, with regular international travel to Monaco, Switzerland and the United States.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 2:00pm to 8:00pm. Travel: regular international travel required.
A warm, highly educated and experienced Governess is sought for a lovely private family based in St John's Wood, London, to support the education, development and daily routine of their 10-year-old daughter.
The ideal candidate will be confident working with children of this age and will take a thoughtful, individualised approach to her education and personal development.
The role will involve supporting homework and schoolwork, encouraging curiosity and independence, and helping to organise enriching activities and experiences outside of school.
The family travel regularly and would love their Governess to accompany them on international trips, including stays in Monaco and Switzerland, as well as occasional trips to the United States, typically for one to two weeks at a time.
The family have two younger children, who are cared for by their own dedicated Nannies, so the primary focus of this position will be the 10-year-old girl.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Governess seeking a long-term position with a private family, combining a London-based role with regular international travel.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the child with homework, schoolwork and academic development
- Encouraging reading, curiosity and a love of learning
- Planning and facilitating age-appropriate educational and cultural activities
- Supporting the child's confidence, independence and social development
- Organising activities, outings and enrichment opportunities
- Liaising appropriately with the parents and, where required, the child's school
- Accompanying the family on international travel
- Maintaining a calm, positive and stimulating environment
- Helping the child develop excellent manners, organisation and life skills
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Governess, Private Tutor, Nanny/Governess or similar educational role
- Strong academic background and excellent general knowledge
- Experience working with children around 8 to 12 years old
- Warm, engaging and emotionally intelligent approach
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Discreet, polished and professional manner
- Flexibility and willingness to travel internationally
- A genuine interest in the child's education and long-term development
