Part-time Live-in Companion

A lovely family is seeking a kind, patient and reliable Living Companion to provide friendly company and light day-to-day support to an independent lady in her early 70s, based in Kent.

The lady is generally very independent and manages her own personal care and daily activities. She has some early signs of Alzheimer's, meaning she may occasionally forget to eat or need gentle reminders with her daily routine.

The role is primarily companionship and reassurance, with someone present in the home during the evenings to provide company and ensure she feels comfortable and settled before bedtime.

Key Responsibilities

Providing friendly companionship and spending quality time with the lady.

Being present at home during the evenings and helping her maintain a regular bedtime routine.

Gently reminding her to have meals, as she may occasionally forget to eat.

Preparing simple meals when required.

Encouraging a comfortable daily routine and providing general reassurance.

Offering occasional help with light household tasks if needed.

The Ideal Candidate

Kind, patient, trustworthy and naturally caring.

Previous experience in companionship, elderly support or a similar role would be beneficial.

Understanding of memory difficulties or early-stage Alzheimer's would be an advantage.

Comfortable providing companionship while respecting the lady's independence and privacy.

Reliable and happy to live in the same household.

Working Arrangement: Up to approximately 20 hours per week, with a particular focus on evenings. The family would also consider a part-time live-in arrangement, for example, three days and nights per week.

Payment: Approximately £300 per week.

Accommodation: Free accommodation provided, including a private bedroom within a three-bedroom house. The candidate will have their own private sleeping space.
